TogetherWorks Southern Utah (TWSU) is a non-partisan organization united to inform, educate, and effect positive change for all members of our community. We participate in a non-violent manner to oppose political actions that threaten our individual autonomy, civil rights, and the ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. In addition to organizing protests, town halls, and other actions, we want to promote members of Washington County communities giving them a chance to make connections within their own town/neighborhood to offer mutual aid and support.
TWSU wants to facilitate people making connections with other like-minded people who share similar values and who are supportive of our constitution and democracy. These values include a spirit of service, kindness, tolerance, diversity, inclusion, helping raise others up, and organizing community events and celebrations.
Funding cuts to social services combined with trade wars mean a decrease in services and increased costs for even basic needs. There is no one coming to save us from the cruel actions of this Administration so we need to set up a structure to help one another. We think that establishing a community-based mutual support network that is a non-monetary, secular method to assist others and receive assistance in a community is critical.
